Altimeters stolen
fN.Z. Press Association! AUCKLAND, Dec. 23. Altimeters were stolen from two Mount Cook Airlines Grumman Widgeon aircraft left parked at Mechanics Bay, Auckland, overnight The airline’s operations manager (Captain B. Packer) said thieves apparently broke into the aircraft through doors, unscrewed the two instruments, but took no other equipment. The ’ altimeters, worth about $250 each, were very hard .to buy in this country. They were Pioneer brand, a sensitive model, graduated from 1000 ft to 10,000 ft.
