Hotel guarantees
Sir, —Christchurch Jags behind because of people like
your correspondent, “Steward,” and the Minister of Tourism, who does not appear, to want to do anything for Christchurch. The president of the Chamber of Commerce said that thousands of tourists will bypass Christchurch because of a lack of adequate accommodation; The chairman of Trans Holdings said the same, and ip April Mr Walker said he was very worried about the situation in Christchurch. His own department described the city as a difficult area, and I support our three new members of Parliament who are not alone in their efforts to get something done. We have stood still for too long. —Yours, etc, ADVANCE. December 22, 1971.
