The STP-March team has announced new Formula I and Formula II cars for next season, and its drivers will be the Swede, R. Peterson, and the Austrian, N. Lauda. Wilson, has already driven a rocket-powered car "Courage of Australia” at more than 300 m.p.h., but this was in the United States. The Lake Eyre attempt will be made with a 44ft long vehicle which is yet .to be built, but which will, except for the engine, be built completely in Australia, At Lake Eyre, the sound barrier occurs at 758 m.pJi., and the Australian team hopes to come close to it.
