Record art thefts
There have been 290 art. thefts in Italy, a record num-. her, during the last year 31 more than in 1970. Figures released by the police show that thieves made a total; haul of 5753 works of art and precious objects, but that; 9912 many of them stolen, several years ago were recovered.—Rome, Dec. ?2.
