Silver Knight to run in Summer Cup

E. Temperton has announced that Silver Knight is almost certain to run in the mile Summer Cup on the third day of the Manawatu Racing Club’s meeting and at the Wairarapa New Year meeting.
On Tuesday, Silver Knight was asked to stretch out over five furlongs on the plough, and he worked in good style. He ran the distance in Imin 6sec, and the last three in 40 2-ssec.
He will be all the better for his race in the Summer Cup, and his appearance will cause a lot of interest. Temperton said Young Ida is herself again after a bock Injury, and it ia now thought she gave herself a rick. She is a likely candidate for Wairarapa. Purdie has been slightly lame since Maaterton, but he is coming along satisfactorily, and may
now run in the Manawatu Cup next week.
next week. Yesterday, Magnifique worked the reverse way over two rounds on the inside trial. She came through the task well, although she changed stride a couple of times on one of the bends but was never above half-pace. Last year’s Manawatu Cup winner, Foxtail, worked with Ribaldo. They ran six furlongs in 1:20 2-5, the last three in 30 Msec.
Foxtail looks in good order for another cub attempt. S. Hammersley rides her, but no jockey has yet been engaged for Ribaldo.
Best times The best six of the training was recorded by Agricca and Tomben. They ran home In 1:16 3-5, the last three in 38 Msec. Agricca rarely fails on the track, but has been disappointing on race day. Ayub Khan ran half a mile In 57sec, the last three in 41sec, and was not hurried. Neither was bless Time, which took 54sec and 40sec.
Lady Cracksman ran five furlongs in 1:7 and ran the last three in 41sec. Zena took 40 Msec for an easy three.
.Twitehit worked Impressively over a mile in 1:44, the fast seven
In 1:31 2-5. and the final three In 39 2-s?ec. Lubra and Vln Chento worked over two round* and came the last three In 37 Msec. Big Beam sprinted three furlongs in 41. He looks sure to be hard to beat again on the second day. Wyndham Mac and Baroness were travelling well throughout half a mile In S2sec, the last three in 38 2-s*ee. On the inside trial Beatrix and a Just Whistle gelding finished together over three furlongs in 38sec.
Course proper On the course proper Chelsea Tower and Ari impressed over half a mile in 50 l-Ssec. the last three in 37 Msec. They are promising youngsters in J. Seiwood’s stable.
Munjarra and Reachfar ran three furlongs in 37sec and finished together. Kentucky Breeze and But Lovely took 1:21 for six furlongs, the last three in 41sec.
Self Defence worked well to beat Trickden, Flash and Mi Chiamo, over half a mile in 50 4-ssee, the final three furlongs in 37 4-3 sec.
Jodie and Edward James were never at top when running six furlongs In 1:21, the last three In 39*ec,
