Fruit Mincemeat Pies using a mincemeat without suet. This mixture is not good for keeping for longer than about a week or 10 days and is therefore a “last minute” one. You need:— Jib mixed sultanas, raisins and currants 4oz apples 4oz melted butter 2 level tablespoons marmalade 1 level teaspoon nutmeg

| level teaspoon mixed spice I level teaspoon cinnamon 1 level teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon lemon juice 1 tablespoon brandy or rum Method: Chop the fruit finely and grate the peeled apples. Combine these and, add other ingredients, mixing thoroughly. Store in a cool place in covered jars until used.
