(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. . 12. A three-stone ring of 5.4 carats insured for $7OOO was sold for $2400 at an antique auction in Wellington. Another three-stone diamond ring of 3.6 carats insured for more than $3500 sold for $1550. A 66-niece Georgian and Victorian sterling silver fiatware set fetched $1056. Four lots of mahogany Chippendale antique furniture which was shared by two buyers brought a total of $1165. Among the paintings, the highest price was $320, for a signed water-colour of Lake Manapouri by Will lan Mathew Hodgkins. Among the more unusual entries was an antique hitching post which went to a buyer for $3B.
