Populatien increases
New Zealand’s population rose by 40,791 to 2,864,488 during the year ending September 30, says the Department of Statistics. This was a 1.4 per cent increase, compared with a 1.5 per cent increase in the 1970 year, when population rose by 41,805. (P-A.)
