Rubbish fires
Christchurch fire-fighting units from several suburban stations attended three rubbish and grass fires yesterday morning. No serious damage was done. An engine from the Stockbum station put outa fire in a rubbish dump off Halswell Junction Road about 7.22 am, A unit from the Sydenham station attended a rubbish fire on vacant land adjacent to Sunnyside Hospital in Lincoln Road at 7.46 am. Units from the Harewood and St Albans stations were called out to a grass Are in Jeliie Park, Greers Road, at 9.10 am.
