Inn to proceed or not?
Work on the $1 million Arlington Motor Inn in Park Terrace has been going on for several months. Tomorrow evening the City Council’s town planning committee will hear 14 objectors and receive a x petition containing 56 names of persons who are against the inn. The objections and petition are against the Arlington Motor Inn, Ltd’s, application for a specified departure from the City Council’s district town planning scheme to build the inn. The City Council granted the company a permit to build the inn several months ago. A writ of injunction against the Arlington Motor Inn, Ltd, to stop the building ~ of the inn, and a writ of mandamus against the City Council requesting it to rehear the application for the permit to build the inn, already granted, are set down for hearing in the Supreme Court next Monday.
The writ of injunction and writ of mandamus have been issued on behalf of . residents living near the hotel site, which has frontages on Park Terrace and Peterborough Street.
