No more Bandits

Production of the 350 c.c. B.S.A. Bandit and Triumph Fury has been abandoned, at least for a year. Announced 12 months ago as Britain’s answer to the Japanese takeover of the American market, the fivespeed overhead camshaft machines will not be available again until 1973 at the earliest.

At present undergoing a financial crisis, the 8.5. A- . group has apparently decided to cut the 350 c.c. machines from its range to minimise immediate production costs. Only last August the price of the Fury and the Bandit was raised about $7O in England and the street scrambler versions were dropped from the range. 8.5. A.-Triumph made a trading loss of £2,750.000 sterling in the 1970-71 year.
