Press Association; AUCKLAND, December 1. i Industrial Chemicals (N.Z.), i Ltd, Auckland, has reduced I its interim dividend from 6| Ito 5 per cent after a profit (decline in the six months to i September 30. | The directors say in their i interim report that sales in the half-year again showed an improvement, of 11 per (cent compared with the previous corresponding period. | However, costs including wages and payroll tax were j 17J per cent higher than last year. Having regard to the country’s economic condition it is considered prudent to pay a 5 per cent interim dividend, the directors say. The company paid a steady total of 13 per cent in the year to March 31. The profit fell 4.7 per cent to $71,759 despite an 11.3 per cent increase in turnover. The company recently made a two-for-five issue of convertible notes at par. The dividend will be paid on December 10. BeU div. steady
Bell Radio-Television Holdings, Ltd, experienced a slight improvement in profitability, the directors said in the midyear report. An unchanged interim dividend of 5 per cent has been declared, payable on December 20, ex dividend December 7.
