New softball award

Canterbury softball has gained another sponsor. A Christchurch company, Alpine Sawmills, Ltd, has announced that as an added incentive to players in the Cooper Henderson Motors senior men’s championship, it will sponsor a "player of the day” award for the outstanding player in the main match at English Park each weekend. The first recipient of the award will be announced immediately after the match between the championship leader, Papanui, and the second-placed Richmond on Sunday.
