Boys lost in bush

(N.Z. Press Association)

INVERCARGILL, Nov. 29.

Nine pupils from Southland Boys’ High School are missing in rugged bush country. The schoolboys, aged 14 and 15, failed to reach their campsite in the Hokonuis, near Dunsdale, after climbing a saddle about one mile and a half away with an instructor.

Twenty-four boys climbed up to the saddle and then spilt into three parties. Two parties returned to the campsite.

Mr A. Deacon and Mr E. Crouch, both teachers at Southland Boys’ High School, are in charge of the boys at the camp. A search will start at daybreak.
