ELLESMERE GUN CLUB

Patterson Cup contest The annual trap-shooting con i test for the Robert Patterson Memorial Cup, a trophy which commemorates the memory of an early president of the Ellesmere Gun Club, attracted a fair attendance of competitors. Although the weather was cold and dull, the shooting was up to a good standard. Five competitors who scored possibles in the cup match were A. Cowie, R. H. Washbourne, I. Winchester, C. C. Skinner, and A. W. C. McPherson. The shootoff went to the twentieth target, when Cowde, a Junior member, outstayed his older rivals to secure a well-deserved win, Skinner being runner-up. Possibles in the usual eyeopener were gained by Winchester. W. D M West, C. Arps, W. L. Gabbie. and E. L. F. Donald. A second trophy match of 15 targets resulted in Cowie, West, and Donald breaking all their targets. A shoot-off resultedi West 1, Donald 2. Cowie 3. Shooters with one dowm were W. Lemon and Skinner.
