Priests sentenced Two Roman Catholic priests have been sentenced to a year in labour camps for preparing children for first communion and confirmation in Lithuania. A typewritten report, circulated in Moscow among foreign correspondents. gave a detailed account of the arrest and trials of the two priests, the Rev. Youzas Zdebskis and the Rev. P. Budnis.—Moscow, November 28. Coins lost Several hundred antique gold coins were spilled on to a busy street accidentally from a clay jug unearthed by excavators in Belgrade, and persons passing by picked up all but six before the police arrived, local newspapers said.—Belgrade, November 28.
Ulbricht reappointed East Germany’s new Volkskammer (parliament) has reappointed Mr Walter Ulbricht Head of State. At the age of 78, Mr Ulbricht was sworn in for another four-year term as chairman of the State Council. He resigned as leader of the East German Communist Party in May.—East Berlin, November 28. Concert inflation The cost of attending the annual Christmas carol concert of the British Prime Minister (Mr Heath) at Broadstairs, Kent, has risen by 20 per cent to 15 pence (32 cents) while the Government is urging industry to keep price increases down to 5 per cent, says the “Daily Mail.”—London, November 28.
