Extensions at airport

Plans are now being developed for an $BO,OOO extension to the air cargo terminal at Christchurch Airport. This will be the second major addition since the terminal opened four years ago, according to the airport authority’s newsletter. About 53 acres to the north of the airfield is being acquired to facilitate planning for runway extensions needed by 1975. The purchase should be completed soon.

Further development of the in-flight kitchen is proposed. The administration block for Mount Cook Airlines and other users of the authority’s hangar should be completed before the end of the year.
