Three farm properties passed in

Two 14-acre blocks of land near Woodend were passed in at about $22,000, and 4660 acres of pastoral lease near Lake Coleridge was passed in at $20,000, at separate auctions yesI terday. The Woodend land was offered for sale in two lots, one of 14 acres and the other of 13 acres three roods. Both lots were passed in, at $BOO an acre and $775 an acre respectively.

Mr W. R. Flanagan, auctioneer for the NMA Company, Ltd, said that the land would be suitable for homebuilders in search of a rural setting, within easy travelling distance of Christchurch. Peak Hill, beside Lake Coleridge, 74 miles from Christchurch, was also passed in. The property carries 2700 sheep and 514 cattle, and has a Government valuation of $lB,OOO. The auctioneer was Mr G. Murray, of the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-opera-tive ■ Asosciation. Ltd, who said yesterday that negotiations for a private sale were under way.

Improvements on the property include a threebedroom house set among trees and a tennis court, a three-bedroom cottage, a large wool shed, five hay sheds, shearers’ quarters, implement sheds, two garages and workshop, and an extensive new cattle yard. Fourteen acres 37 perches of land, at the corner of Philpotts and Winters roads, Mairehau, was passed in at $66,000 when offered at auction yesterday. The Government valuation is $87,400. The auctioneer, Mr G. May, of the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association, said that negotiations were also proceeding for a private sale of this property. A three-bedroom Canadian cedar bungalow with a semitropical garden and retaining walls at 174 Mount Pleasant Road, was sold for $15,300 at auction yesterday. The Government valuation is $lO,OOO. The auctioneer was Mr L. B. Prendeville, of, L. B. Prendeville Real Estate Auctioneers. ■k
