Easton Light is Thames fancy

"The Press*' Special Service AUCKLAND. Easton Light ■ makes strong appeal in the Reg* Rhodes Flying Mile on the first night of the Thames Trotting Club’s meeting at Alexandra Park tomorrow night.

i The race, which is the I second leg of the T.A.B. concession double, has drawn all ’ the best trotters in the north, as well as Waterloo, from Canterbury, and Frosty Lass. After a successful campaign in Australia, Frosty Lass resumed racing in New Zealand at the cup meeting at Addington. She shaped promisingly and might be a danger here. Easton Light had none the best of the running in his ,'races at Addington but he

performed most creditably for a third (in the Dominion Handicap) and two fourths. He has drawn nicely at No. 3 and has the ability to run a fast mile.

His strongest opposition may come from Single Cash and Salvander. Single Cash has a great record in free-for-alls and

Salvander, from No. 1, needs only to keep to her gait in the first fuflong to be a major threat. The first leg, the President’s Handicap, gives Young Cardigan a good opportunity to regain the winning list. He finished brilliantly for third at the Franklin meeting on Tuesday night after a slow start and looks back to top form. Scotitsh Warrior, and the in-form Hundred Pipers look his main rivals.
