Model for corporation
A contention that If the New Zealand Co-operative Wool Marketing Association Ltd, had been given the appropriate encouragement and assistance it would have already accomplished the Job which is now being set out for the proposed wool marketing corporation is made by the directors of the association—a grower co-opera-tive that favours direct selling of wool. “We have said our piece, too. about the previous *no change’ policy and are pleased to see that positive steps towards marketing change, long past due in our book, are actually being taken,** they say through the chairman, Mr H. W. Upton. “We welcome these steps since they are necessary in all growers* and the country's interests. “We also know that the corporation envisaged is
very close to the pattern of selling we have developed. We have been assured by the Wool Board that we can continue to operate and expand alongside the proposed marketing organisation. We agree that powers must be given to this body so that It can exert Influence and authority In a somewhat Inefficiently organised industry. “We comment that If our organisation could have received just part of the top level encouragement and assistance now contemplated, the Job ahead would now have been accomplished. “In the changes that are to come, your directors and senior executives will be watching our interests most carefully in order to nwlwi cortftin that tho M“ surances that we have been given will be honoured.’’
