The Secretary of State for Social Services (Sir Keith Joseph) has announced an increase of SNZ2S3m in expenditure on Britain’s health and social services.

Sir Keith Joseph said in the House of Commons that the money would be spent mainly on services for the elderly and the mentally ill. After the announcement, Sir Keith Joseph said the demands of these sectors had increased and the larger budget was an attempt by the Government to meet the growing need.
