GRIDIRON OFFER
John sees officials (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) CARDIFF. B. John, who scored a record 180 points for the British Lions on their recent tour of New Zealand, travelled to London yesterday to ! discuss an offer from officials iof American gridiron clubs. I Commenting on his visit, John said: "It was a very interesting chat. I went there for that purpose only, to be filled in with the details. “I never turn down any invitation, especially if it affects my future, and I feel there is never any harm in looking into such things.” There is a great demand in American football for expert place-kickers and the money to be earned has been described as “pretty fantastic.” It is possible that more than $42,860 would be paid for a top kicker and there is no doubt that the brilliant record of John in New Zealand has captured the imagination of the Americans.
