100 injured in manoeuvres

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) MUNICH, October 13. . Three American and two West German soldiers have been killed in joint field exercises north of Munich. One American soldier was electrocuted when his helmet touched a high-voltage line, and another died in a collision between two vehicles. Another 100 persons received hospital treatment, mostly because of vehicle mishaps, and the chief of police in the town of Erding, near the main area of the manoeuvres, alleged yesterday: “The American troops involved in the exercises were driving like madmen. “In Erding alone in the last 10 days there have been 10 accidents involving injuries to 30 persons and damage amounting to about 100,000 marks ($25,000).
