STARTERS IN CLASSIC
A former New Zealand representative, G. D. Brown (Mid-South Canterbury), and the winner last year of the national junior title, B. Webster, of Wellington, are among recent entries in the amateur section of the Christchurch Garden City Golf Classic at Russley. Webster, who is only 18, was a qualifier in this year’s amateur championship. J. Kerr (Southland) and the Russley player, G. N. Martin, are others who have entered in the last few days.
