FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation. —The south-west flow over the country is decreasing as an anticyclone over Australia moves on to the north Tasman Sea; pressures will remain rather low to the south and east of the country. Forecast: Coastal Marlborough and Canterbury.— Moderate to fresh south-west winds; scattered showers but mainly fair; cool. Buller and Westland.—Moderate to fresh south-westerlies; cold and showery, snow down to 3000 ft in the ranges. ' Nelson and inland Marlborough.—Cool with moderate to fresh south-westerlies; showers in the ranges occasionally spreading to other areas.
