BRIEF LEAD.—A. Collison (Palmerston North) leading the young Wanganui rider, P. Ploen, on the opening lap of the second heat of the New Zealand 500 c.c. scrambles championship at Clarkville on Sunday. Soon afterwards, Ploen swept to the front and, although pressed for the entire distance, hung on to score his second victory. A second to Collison in the final heat assured him of the title.
