Sewer costs at Tai Tapu

Although it was agreed that the high cost of a sewerage system in relation to the number of houses would prohibit for some considerable time the installation of sewers at Tai Tapu, the Paparua County Council on Monday evening asked the County Clerk (Mr A. Kelly) for a report on costs. The finance committee reported that it had been suggested that the same financial help as was given to Templeton would have to be offered to Tai Tapu, and that the potential development of Tai Tapu would have to be examined.

The committee also reported that a legal opinion was to the effect that the council could contribute to the Happy Home Road drainage scheme if an urban drainage area was declared. The question of a contribution from the council was referred to the rural districts committee.
