Walking holidays
Hundreds of New,, Zealanders wifi take to walking during their summer holiday*. Many will join guided walks through the national parks in h able to cover both the Routebum and Milford Track walk* in a package tour. The walk will take 10 days and will cover 3* mils*. It ha* been arranged jointly by the Tourist Hotel Corporation, which control* the Milford ZSUffWKTiftf kjson. of Dunodin. Mr Glikison negotiated the joint walk with an officer of foe corporation, Mr E. Honey, who suparvliea walk* on the Milford Track. The cost of the 10 day* will be $lOO. l Since th* organised Routeburn walk began in the 196766 season there has been a sharp rise in its popularity. The first season attracted 30 walkers hut last season the number row to 433. BKn This year more than 600 people have sought to be included in walks, the first Of which will begin on November 19. From then group* will leave Queenstown every Monday and Friday until next April,
