Parade at Wigram

Six pilots and navigators of the latest aircrew course at the R.N.Z.A.F. base, Wigram, graduated at a parade held yesterday. The parade was reviewed by Air Commodore S. G. Quill, and commanded by Pilot Officer A J. Buckingham.

The graduating aircrew were pilot officers A. J. Buckingham (Invercargill), D. I. Grant (Te Awamutu), P. H. Johnson (Stratford), S. L. Robertson (Paihia), and navigators A. D. Gainsford (Ngongotaha) and R. M. Thome (Greytown).

Pilot Officer Johnson was awarded the De Lange Trophy for obtaining the highest flying marks during the course and the Arma-

ment Trophy for the highest marks obtained during weapon training. Pilot Officer Gainsford was awarded the Astrolabe Trophy, for the navigator obtaining the highest marks. The photograph shows Pilot Officer Johnson receiving the ■ Armament Trophy from Air Commodore Quill.
