Grass track racing

The first motor-cycle grass track meeting of the summer season will be held at Sefton tomorrow, by the Kaiapoi Motor Club, and a number of speedway riders have taken the opportunity of entering. The New Zealand grass track champion in the speedway class, R. Wright, hopes to be there if he can prepare his machine in time, and M. Salt is another who has indicated he will compete if his machinery is “up to scratch.” Other prominent speedway riders who will be racing include, R. Herdman, B. Valentine, and D. Sincock. D. Brandon and B. Read are expected to feature in the class for grass track machines. G. Holland heads the entries for the class for scramblers.
