The American student, B. Beard, set a new pro* vincial men’s basketball scoring record this season. In 18 representative games he compiled 387 points to average 21.5 points a game. The next highest were Canterbury’s two 1970 New Zealand representatives, P. Stigley and K. Hessell with 196 and 192, respectively. Of the two, Hessell finished with a slightly higher game average, 10.6.
