U.S. charter flight

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 6. An American charter airline. Trans International Airlines, has been given permission to land a chartered DCB at Auckland in November. The aircraft will carry about 250 people from the United Delco Company, of Oakland, California. They will also visit American Samoa and Tahiti. i The airline said in a statement released in London that the landing rights represented “ a breakthrough into what had been a totally closed part of the world for charter flights.” However, a Ministry of Transport spokesman in Wellington said it was not a breakthrough. New Zealand usually allowed one-trip charters landing rights. “We have something like 20 to 30 a year," he said.
