MacDonald keeps title

(N.Z Press Assn.—Copyright) KUALA LUMPUR. J. MacDonald (Hong Kong), driving a Brabham BT3O, retained the Malaysian Grand Prix title yesterday after the favourite, G. Lawrence (New Zealand), was forced to stop at the pits twice. The New Zealander seemed certain of victory when he took an early lead in the 50-lap event over about 105 miles, but mechanical trouble struck him and he had to be content with fifth place. S. Rakah in a Lotus 69 and J. Bussel in a McLaren, both of Malaysia, were second and third respectively. Lawrence, however, had the consolation when he clocked the fastest lap fime, Imin 24.65ec. Earlier, another New Zealander, G. Perry, on a Suzuki T5OO won the "motor-cycle grand prix over the same distance.
