Southerner surplus
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 31. The average seat occupancy of the Southerner train tor the complete journey over the first six months of its service was 73.5 per cent, the Minister of Railways (Mr Gordon) said in Parliament today. He added that for that period the surplus of revenue over expenditure was estimated at $25,000.
He was answering oral questions asked by Mr R. L. G. Talbot (Nat., South Canterbury).
