Stablemates impressive
' “The Press” Special Service HASTINGS. , Agra and Nullarbor, stablemates engaged at Wanganui this week, were impressive in training at Hastings yesterday morning, and could race well on Saturday. The plough was used for all fast work, and offered good going. Quick Sal, which is ready for a good race in the Wanganui Motors Handicap, and Vespasian went off from the six-furiong peg. Quick Sal was three lengths clear at the finish in Imin 23 3-ssec, the last three furlongs of which required 41 2-ssec. Vespasian broke down about two furlongs and a half from home. Though he completed the distance, it was found be had broken a right hind thigh bone and had to be destroyed. Ima Martian worked boldly over five furlongs in linin 9 2-5 sec, the last three solidly in 41sec. He could run a good race in the Owen Handicap at Wanganui.
Agra and his stablemate, Nullarbor, ran seven furlongs freely in Imin 39 l-ssec, the last three in 42sec. Agra appeals for the Tally Ho Steeplechase and Nullarbor could make his presence felt in the Wanganui Motors Handicap.
