This is the,, opinion of Miss D. M. Uuwin (Timaru), who was New Zealand’s only official delegate at the Luxemburg conference of the World Federation of United Nations Associations recently.
On her way home, Miss Unwin stayed with Sham Sanl and his wife, Siti, in their home in Kuala Lumpur.
“Sham now holds the most senior position in the geography department of the new (national) university, Kebangsaan,” Miss Unwin said. At the same time he does tutorial work at the other university, and acts as a reader for the Oxford University Press.
“Extremely conscious of his responsibilities as the most highly qualified person in his field, he is determined to maintain overseas standards in Ms own country. He is an exceptional young man by any standards,” Miss Unwin said.
