Tennis fees to rise

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Affiliation fees to the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association will double this season. The increase, decided at the annual meeting of the association yesterday, is expected to net the national body an estimated $9250 extra a year. The original proposal suggested by the national executive was for a 300 per cent increase, but the council delegates supported an Auckland amendment for the lesser amount.

It means affiliation fees for full playing members will increase from 25c to 50c and for restricted members from 15c to 30c.

The manager of the New Zealand Davis Cup team (Mr E. D. B. Lusk) told the meeting that the next Federation Cup tournament for women would be staged in South Africa next year, and the host country was prepared to meet full travelling costs for every competing, nation.
