Island hit by typhoon
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) TOKYO, August 5. Twelve people were reported dead and six others missing after Typhoon Olive had hit Japan’s southernmost island, Kyushu, today. With centre-winds of 80 miles an hour, the typhoon gave rise to floods and landslides over a wide part of the island,, disrupting communications and rail, air and ferry services.
