AUSTRALIAN MARKET
General Motors—Holden increased its share of the Australian car market from 33.4 per cent to 35.7 per cent in June, Australian sources report. The company was holding a "sellout*' campaign to quit its “old’’ 1971 models, and nearly all other manufacturers lost ground to the company.
The exceptions were the Japanese makes, which increased their share of the market to 18.7 per cent, compared with 10.3 per cent for Chrysler, 6.8 per cent for British Leyland, and 20.5 per cent for Ford, which will announce a new Faicon-Fairlane range in six months.
