Burwood and Linwood Avenue I won their fixture* comfortably on Sunday in the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association’s winter inter-club competition, but Woolston beat Beckenham only by 54 games to S 3 when they were even In sets.
Beckenham v. Woolston Men’s doubles.—F. Versteeg and R. Versteeg beat M. Fearnley and J. Whitford, 9-2, 44, Women’s doubles.—Misaes G. Freear and M. Mills lost to Misses C. Newton and L. Leney, 44, 44.
Mixed doubles.—F. Versteeg and Miss Freear beat Whitford and Miss Leney. 9-7; lost to Fearnley and Miss Newton, 5-9. R.
