C.R.A. bauxite deposit

(N.Z. Press Association) SYDNEY, August 2. The Japanese trading company, C. Itoh and Company, and Conzinc Riotinto of Australia are planning a feasibility study of bauxite deposits near Choiseul, in the British Solomon Islands, the "Australian” newspaper reported today. The national daily said it believed that C.R.A. would reveal the plan in its annua) report in a few months.

It said that C.R.A. had renewed its special licence covering an area at Wagina, south of Choiseul, where it has been prospecting for bauxite for two years. The "Australian” said it was believed that C.R.A. had proved reserves of about 20 million tons. One of the conditions of the renewed licence required C.R.A. to submit a feasibility study for exploitation. Reports from the British Solomons suggested that C.R.A. and C. Itoh were exploring the island together, the paper said.
