Membership of Jaycee

The Jaycee movement should study its membership requirements, Mr G. Sinclair, of Ashburton, world president of Jaycee International, said in Christchurch on Wednesday evening. Mr Sinclair, only the third New Zealander to hold the world presidency, was addressing some 180 members of Jaycee chapters and their wives. ~ The topic was the drive for more comprehensive membership of the Jaycee movement in New Zealand, so as to get a'better cross-section of young persons. The New Zealand membership of Jaycee had once been the highest in the world on a population basis, but; no longer, said Mr Sinclair. In eight or nine countries women had equal standing with men in membership of Jaycee chapters, he said. While world president Mr Sinclair will visit some 50 countries.
