The French Ambassador to New Zealand, Mr Christian de Nicolay, has also been appointed Ambassador to the Fiji, Western Samoa and Tonga Islands. Mr de Nicolay was named to the Wellington post in April, 1970. Paris, July 22.
Lieutenant-Colonel R. K. Porter, Royal New Zealand Artillery, of Wellington, has been appointed co-ordinator of equipment programmes at the support branch of Defence Headquarters, Wellington. He replaces LieutenantColonel C. L. Sanderson, Royal New Zealand Army Ordinance Corps, of Wellington, who has. been appointed director of support plans at the Ministry of Defence.
Mr F. K. Stone has taken up his duties as County Engineer to the Heathcote County Council He formerly held a similar position with the Akaroa County Council.
