PUBLIC NOTICES CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL CENTENNIAL POOL EXTENSION LOAN, 1971—51,280,000 NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Council held on Monday, the 19th day of July, 1971, the following resolution was passed and it will be submitted for confirmation as a Special Order at the meeting of Council to be held on Monday, the 16th day of August, 1971, at 8 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. 194 Manchester Street: “That in pursuance and exen else of the powers vested in it by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1954, and the Local Authorities Loans Act, 1956, and all amendments thereto and all other Acts in that behalf enabling, the Christchurch. City Council hereby resolves to proceed to raise in New Zealand a loan to be known as the Centen* nial Pool Extension Loan, 1971 $1,280,000 for the purpose of reconstructing the Centennial Pool to riieet the international standards necessary for the 1974 Commonwealth Games, subject to the following determinations: (1) The term for which the said loan or any part therof may be borrowed shall be thirty years; (2) The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate or rates exceeding 6 per cent per annum; (3) The Council shall, before raising the said loan or any part thereof, make provision for the repayment thereof by establishing a sinking fund and shall make annual payments to such sinking fund at a rate of not less than 1.51 per cent per annum of the amount of the loan for the time being borrowed and not repaid; (4) The payment of all such instalments shall be made in New Zealand, and no such instalment shall be paid out of loan money; (5) The following commission or fees may be paid in respect of the arising of the said loan or any part thereof: (a) Brokerage not exceeding one-half per cent of the amount raised. (b) Underwriting commission or fees not exceed-

ing one-halfiper cent of the amount underwritten, i (c) A placement fee not exceeding three-quar-ters per cent in respect of a placement by a single lender of $20,000 br more for a term of twenty years or more, provided that no placement fee shall be payable in respect of an underwritten issue or any part thereof. Except as aforesaid, no procuration fees or other fees or commission of a similar nature shall be paid and no discount shall be allowed to any lender in respect of the raising of the said loan or any part thereof; (6) The security for the repayment of the said loan shall be a Special Rate of $.000535 in the dollar on the rateable value, on the basis of the unimproved value, of all rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch.” Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act, 1956, it is hereby publicly notified that a poll of the ratepayers is required to be taken if not less than 5 per cent of the ratepayers of the City of Christchurch so demand by writing, under their hands, delivered or sent by posttothe undersigned before the date fixed for the confirmation of the resolution as set out above. TARIFF ITEM 98.01.11) 1— Following receipt, by the Minister of Customs of a report from the Emergency Protection Authority, the Government has accepted the recommendation that import licensing should be retained on button moulds of metal and blanks and parts thereof for a further period of one year, and that the question be reexamined at that time in the light of performance by the manufacturers. 2 In accordance with the provisions of the Tariff and Development Board Act, the Minister of Customs has requested the Board to Inquire into and report on what form of permanent protections, if any, is necessary in respect of button moulds of metal and blanks and parts thereof classified in Tariff item 98.01.11, which reads as follows: NUMBER: 98.01. .
