LATE ENTRY
A welcome late entry for the Canterbury squash rackets championships is W. Reedman, of Australia, who has been in Auckland providing match practice for the New Zealand team. The 20-year-old Reedman was runner-up in the British amateur championships earlier this year.
Fischer wins semi-final

DENVER. The American, R. Fischer, yes-, terday won his semi-final of the candidates’ tournament for the world chess championship. He scored his sixth successive victory in the series against B. Larsen (Denmark). Fischer will play the winner of the other semi-final between the Russians, T. Petrosian and V. Korchnoi. The winner of that match will then meet the world champion, B. Spssky (Russia).
