Jews sent home
About 35 Russian Jews detained by the police after declaring a hunger-strike in Moscow’s central telegraph office have been transported home to the Caucasus, according to Jewish sources in the capital. They say that the demonstrators were placed under armed guard on a train to Tbilisi after being interrogated in a Moscow “sober-ing-up” station to which : drunken people are taken for showers, coffee and lectures on sobriety. About 10 : other Jews, mostly from Mos--1 cow, who joined the “sit-in” ! have been released.—Moscow, July 18.
