Stormont boycott

(N Z.P. A.-Reuter —Copyright) BELFAST, July 19.

The main Opposition party in Northern Ireland’s Parliament has announced that it will boycott the Stormont (home of the province’s parliament) and set up its own Mr Gerald Fitt, leader of the Social Democratic and Labour Party, said that it was boycotting the Stonhont because of the British Government’s refusal to set up an independent inquiry into the shooting of two civilians by British troops during last week’s disturbances in Londonderry. The party would form an alternative assembly, he said. Bomb explosions damaged a Guinness brewery store near the centre of Belfast and a telephone exchange three miles south of the capital last night. ' There were no casualties, although windows were shattered over a wide area.
