Stage No. 17 to Merckx
<N.Z. Press Assn. —Copsripht) BORDEAUX (France). The Belgian rider, E. Merckx, won yesterday’s seventeenth stage of the Tour de France cycle race—an 116.8-mile ride from Mont-de-Marsan to Bordeaux, demoralising his main rivals and virtually assuring himself of final victory when the tour ends in Paris tomorrow.
