UNIVERSITY OF CANTERBURY THE COUNCIL OF THE UNIVERSITY invites applications for the following vacancies which include a number of new positions to be filled for the first time in 1972: SENIOR LECTURER OR LECTURER IN ECONOMICS Applicants may have qualifications in any of the main areas of Economics, Econometrics, or Operations Research. SENIOR LECTURERS OR LECTURERS IN EDUCATION Two positions; (i) child development, the appointee will be expected to assist with both theoretical and practical aspects of the child development courtes at all levels; (ii) New Zealand education, the appointee will be responsible for teaching both the historical foundations and the contemporary status of, and trends in New Zealand education. SENIOR LECTURER OR LECTURER IN ENGLISH Special experience in the study or teaching of American literature will be regarded as desirable but not as an essential qualification. The salary range for Assistant Lecturers is $3359 to $4255 p.a.; for Lecturers $4814 to $6034 p.a.; and for Senior Lecturers $6132 to $7174 (bar) $7392 to $7826 p.a.
