New tug due today

The Lyttelton Harbour Board’s new tug Canterbury is due at Lyttelton this morning from Whangarei on her delivery voyage. She is expected to berth at the No. 5 East Wharf at 7.30 a.m.

The secretary-manager of the Lyttelton Harbour Board (Mr A. J. Sowden) said yesterday that it was expected that the Canterbury would be docked on Monday. She would undergo trials on Tuesday, and if these were satisfactory the handing over would take place on Wednesday. On Wednesday afternoon, the Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt Rev. W. A. Pyatt) would bless the vessel, Mr Sowden said.
